Wow.. what happened in here???
I go out for a few hours today and when I come back all I see in here is gloom and doom, the sky is falling, and heaven only knows what else! Did some tragedy occur that I'm not aware of?

1. It's former Clinton supporters in large part saying the Obama sky is falling.
I am surprised the mods are allowing it so much.

Apparently "Biden can't handle the press," "Obama doesn't know how to run a campaign," and "we were totally unprepared for Palin"... did I accidentally stumble into the Repub Underground??

12. You ought to see some other forums...
where some are posting. The strategy is to make people think Obama and Biden can't handle things but Hillary could.

It needs to stop here at DU. It is being done deliberately, and much of it is planned and coordinated elsewhere.

36. Can I tell you something?
Denigrating someone, insulting them and railing at what you may perceive as their flaws is not the way to spur them on to achieve their highest. When you (and others) come on here full of negativity and harsh criticism it isn't helpful. No one on here wants a McCain presidency.. working together, supporting each other, and our candidates is the best way of getting from here to there, IMO.

27. Let's see.
McCain offers another 4 years of Bush.
Obama offers real change for the middle class.
Palin offers nothing more than guns and religion.

Yes, I did think it would be easy.

I also thought that Obama would have learned to respond to something as easy as the community service attack.

You're right. Obama is amazing. I'm just not sure that his campaign has a done a great job with Palin.

The more obvious gloom and doom posts are people who have never supported Obama and have no intention of voting for him in Nov.

Hang tight, most of us are aware of the hard work in front of us but are optimistic about the outcome.

And, some here want to pretend that it was expected.

I, myself, felt that a candidate like Obama should be leading by no less than 10 points against someone that offers another 4 years of Bush. It looks like others disagree.

19. you are so right on!
Based on everything that has occured the past 8 years under Bush (with McCain's support), Obama should have had a 10 point lead in the polls going into the dem convention and even with all the bounces, Obama should still be up in the polls by 5 points.

Obama is pulling a Kerry...acting very defensive, don't be aggressive attacking your opponent (when there is plenty of areas to attack) and just hope the people will vote on the issues...If Obama does not change course very soon the ship will sink just like it did for Kerry. I do not know what it is with Dems who are so hesitant to attack their opponent. WTF?

47. Okay crybaby, then just go home and pack it in.
Bit naive, aren't you? After all, Obama actually getting a bounce surprised me after the MSM was soooo negative all week long at the DNC and then finally praised him the last night. It will always be close for now on in elections because half the country is normal and half the country is psycho-they voted for Bush TWICE after all. We have a small amount in the middle who have not decided yet so we shall see. I think the race is pretty much tied up at this point but Obama has some good play in places like Virginia and Colorado, which has never happened with a Dem before.

21. Umm you were kidding yourself if you think that Obama would
be leading by 10 points. These polls mean nothing right now and will be subject to change over the next two weeks and after the debates. People writing crap about Obama does not help the situation. We need to be aware that there is work to do and this should inspire everyone who wants this ticket to succeed in taking back the white house work harder and behave less like people who don't want to win.

We said that weeks before he should have been up 10, and weeks after he should be up by 10. It certainly shouldn't be tied at any point. And, it most certainly shouldn't be showing McCain with any kind of lead - EVER!!
