This seems very apparent to me -- we noticed it when we were watching McCain's speech at the RNC -- right after, it was very striking how Cindy McCain avoided Palin, avoided making eye contact with her, stood apart from her, etc. McCain himself rarely makes eye contact with Palin and stands away from her and sort of lets her wander around the stage by herself -- very unusual for a veep and presidential candidate. During his speech Palin would lean over to talk to Cindy but Cindy would sit up straight and never lean towards Palin at all, not giving an inch nor making eye contact.

It seems to me that the McCains *really* dislike the Palins. It makes me think she was definitely not McCain's choice for veep.
