John McCain refers to an Iraq War Veteran as "ground noise and static"....
How can he get away with this; "My friends, please don't be diverted by the ground noise and static."

He shouts from the rafters - "McCain Votes Against Vets" and "Ask McCain about his voting record" - were drowned out by chants of "U.S.A," "U.S.A," but they seemed to throw McCain slightly off his game despite his ample experience being interrupted on the campaign trail. At any rate, he veered off his address to implore the crowd to ignore the "static" and explain that "Americans want us to stop shouting at each other.

Outside the hall, Dana Goldstein with the American Prospect caught up to one of the hecklers,
a 26-year-old veteran named Adam Kokesh, who is upset with McCain's veterans record.

UPDATE: Goldstein has an interview with Kokesh -- read it here:Huffington Post

This veteran was calling John McCain out on his non-support of our U.S. soldiers and Veterans that are suffering far worse now- dealing with the personal struggles and the aftermath of fighting in a war that was chosen by the hands of these very same arrogant and elite people. The GOP and the Bush Administration are only interested in supporting wars, and their record of voting shows us this fact.

Vets Group Proves GOP Does Not Support Troops: BobGeiger.com

What's even worse- the convention goers got in on the fiasco and shouted him down and then shoved him out. I would say half of those shouting him down have never served a day in their life. It disgusts me to see them act this out on our national airwaves, as they should have handled the situation with care. Instead, they enjoyed every minute of the opportunity to degrade one of our own soldiers on live T.V.- when they could quietly wait for him to be escorted out without making it a big deal.

Do those people know what they did tonight? It was shameful and the RNC and their convention goers should be sick and embarrassed.

I do not understand how the GOP can get away with using outright lies and slander against half of the people in American and do it on national television followed by the media pontificating over their useless manufactured distortions. They paraded out all those elected officials just to incite disdain and to pander to voters false fears. All of it dishonest and in violation of professional ethics for holding office in our government. They are pompous enough to think this divisive rhetoric will continue to work and they laugh about it proudly.

They do not deserve one more pay check on our tax dollars. Why do their glaring examples of Un-American bigotry go unchecked?

If Barack Obama and Democrats did something like that, we would be beat up by the media day in and day out and we'd probably not be winning an election any time soon. We must do everything we can to put them were they belong; kick these bad politicians out into the street without a job and tell the Republican Party its time to get real and its past time they listen to the people for a change.

6. Me thinks it is going to bite him in the ass again. Ignoring the obvious is what the GOP does best!
We are going to file those "mistakes" out the door and into the street. Bad politicians should be jobless and in a different line of work.

3. Ah.... but the Convention goers love, love Love Our Troops,
love love love their bumper stickers and draping themselves in the flag everywhere they go.
As long as they just go off and die without making a big deal about it.

Pigs!

9. Yes, they love them...but not enough to join them.
:puke:

Every right winger I know has not served a day in their life. The soldiers I know that served or are serving, they are Indys and Dems. That may not be true across the board, but its what I see. Military members are 6 to 1 more likely to vote for Obama/Biden. :bounce:

11. I sent that on to the Obama camp. Thank you for that suggestion.
John is doing our job for us in many ways, by just being his typical ideologue self.

13. Yes he do! Here is a song from his website:
Some Gave All For Nothing

With sweat and toil, give blood for oil,
Make an offer to the Gods!
The Gods of war eat dogs of war,
But we all face the odds.
Roll the dice, you'll sacrifice,
For country, God and Corps.
No purple hearts, no bleeding hearts,
But touched forever more.
Mom's reticence, your innocence,
Like dust into the wind.
Home to war, or back for more,
No matter how it's spinned!
Let dreams of glory make your story,
Face the ultimate test.
They'll deceive and you'll believe,
Dulce et decorum est!

Heed the call, don't take the fall,
We know they're only bluffing.
We all gave some and some gave all,
But some gave all for nothing.

It's our blood lust, it's dust to dust,
The seeds of death we sew,
Bury the caches, scatter the ashes,
The people don't want to know.
An IED here, or a bombing there,
What's the death count today?
It's old news, and just half-true,
What is there left to say?
A father's fears, a mother's tears,
Await that number to mount.
Stories we heed of a hero's deed,
But suicides don't even count.
Fill your tanks and save your thanks,
No need to give me props.
We fought, we died, we killed, they lied,
But my friend came home in a box.

Heed the call, don't take the fall,
We know they're only bluffing.
We all gave some and some gave all,
But some gave all for nothing.

A city besieged, a country deceived,
Fallujah was just a ploy,
We couldn't elect, with just disrespect,
When soldiers become just like toys.
Lance Corporal Frank, didn't catch a blank,
From his armpit to his spine.
That same flak vest, protected his chest,
It might as well have been mine.
They dropped the ball, we got the call,
To get him on the mend.
My lead foot fell, we raised some hell,
To make him whole again.
We carried him in, as he faded out,
Told him he would be alright.
Have no fear, your cure is here.
But then he died on site.

Heed the call, don't take the fall,
We know they're only bluffing.
We all gave some and some gave all,
But some gave all for nothing.

8. Silencing an Iraq war vet by mindlessly shouting "USA". I can't think of a better metaphor than that

10. Truly is the biggest metaphor for the heights of GOP hypocrisy this election.
I received several emails last night from angry vets/soldiers who are pissed about GOP shouting USA over him. That and 9/11 video.

14. Yep, and we should be shouting that from the roof tops.
I made up a flier about his "non" support of everything under the American sun. I couldn't even fit it on anything less than 5 pages.
