GOP lied about amount $ raised after Palin speech
I know, they lie about everything. Nothing new.

Anyway, it was widely reported that cash rolled into the McCain campaign following Palin's speech. Actual numbers varied, but ranged between 4 and 7 million dollars.

Not true.

--

The Republican National Committee announced earlier Thursday, at mid-afternoon, that it had raised well in excess of $1 million since Palin's speech...

--

Our guys? A cool 10 million from 130,000 donors... so far.

Barack Obama's presidential campaign said it raised $10 million Thursday following the Republican National Convention speech by rival John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said Palin's address, heavily laced with digs at Obama, prompted an outpouring of donations from more than 130,000 donors.

1. I think that was the introduction speech, not the convention speech.
But I could be wrong.

who were turned off by the strident negativity of Palin.

4. "well in excess"
Technically, I guess 4 - 7 million is "well in excess" of 1 million.

7. There were two Palin speeches, remember? I think they reported the higher number for her first
announcement speech in Ohio.

I think the second number came after last night's speech.

11. McCain campaign contributions are tallied separately from Republican Party contributions.
