CNN hires-on with McCain campaign... officially adopts "hockey moms" and "Wal*Mart moms" terminology

I must be an exceptionally slow learner, 'cause the media has surprised me yet again with their unprofessionalism & incompetence.

I had *just* flicked over to CNN, only to hear John King state, while discussing target voter demographics with Wolf Blitzer & sidekick (Gloria?)...

"Another big constituency ... are what they're (McCain campaign) now calling 'hockey moms.' We used to call them 'the soccer moms'; we're calling them 'hockey moms' in this campaign because of Sarah Palin."

So CNN is adopting the McCain camp terminology for the previously-labeled "soccer mom" demographic, and jumping on-board with the new McCain camp "Wal*Mart mom" term.

Good to see our media standing strong and holding fast to their objectivity.

1. I saw that but

I have a different take on the WalMart Mom tag. To me it seems like they are looking down their noses at people who shop at WalMart. Ya know like ewww those people are WalMart moms not like us(meaning them) Macy Moms.

Us mtn hillbillies don't have much choice when it comes to shopping. Our little town doesn't even have a redlight and just got a Dollar Store. We have to drive 30mins down either side of the mountain to get anywhere. I try to hold out for Costco trips but those are only every couple of months and over an hr drive. So hubby drops by Wally World after work sometimes bc he is already down there.

So yeah for me it sounds condescending not flattering to be called a WalMart Mom.
