if Palin was so mean, nasty, and strong (I couldn't bear to watch--sorry), then why should Joe
have to be "so careful" with her? Fuck that.

2. He won't
Not anymore. Anyway, they have no shame and will attack him thoroughly no matter what he does.

5. we need to take off
the pink tutus and get down and dirty. Her whole speech was unwarrented attacks on us. We need to be the ones framing the debate.

3. Because the Dem way of doing things....
in the past 2 elections is to allow your opponents to slap you around, just take it and do not attack back because you may look bad.

I say fuck that....there are over 4,000 (number of troops dead) reasons to say the hell with that way of thinking!

4. I would ignore her completely
I think both Obama and Biden need to attack the McCain plan, proposals, polices and differences. I would not attack her at all in any way. Go after McCain he is at the top of the ticket,

9. Please leave the baby out of the rhetoric.
It really is unnecessary because there is so much else to criticize her and the rethuglicans about.

11. Agreed. She will hang herself by her own questionable morality.
All the press has to do is dig in the stories which are already out here circulating. What is true and what is not true will come out.

I think the smears Obama had to deal with during the primaries will be projected through Palin:

1. Patriotism--- AIP
2. American enough - half-blooded...What can't the MSM say about moose burgers
3. Don't like the wife...well what about the husband.

Obama does not have to lift a finger. Let her run her mouth not because she is woman but because her own lips will crush her own hopes.

15. Precisely
She will hoist herself on her own petard. That said, she will always be the darling of the right wing fundies, that is just the way it is, but lets look at the bigger picture.

The Esteemed Senator McCain had to pick someone to shore up his base, leaving him no room to pick someone with real experience or judgement, just a token to get the base behind him, meaning he was in trouble before he really gets started.

Conversely, Obama chose someone who adds depth to the ticket in both judgement, experience and savvy, serving as a compliment to his skills. Biden does sometimes stumble over his own words and thinks faster than he talks, but always comes across as a decent guy who cares about the common folk. The base was already with Obama (sure you can find a few that were not if you look for them), he didn't have to use this important choice as a Hail Mary play just to keep the base in line and get elected.

14. In any debate between a man and a woman, black and white, old and young, experienced and novice,
you need to keep in mind that ultimate impact of the debate may not be just a scorecard used for high school debates.

Fair or not a debate is only important to the extent that it impacts the election. That impact is sometimes not the same thing as who scored the most debating points. We all know of instances of one side "exceeding (low) expectations", appearing to be "condescending", invading someone's "space", etc. While Biden is 1000 times as qualified to be president, he will have to be careful (not one of Biden's best qualities?) that he conveys his superior experience and knowledge into a winning debate performance while avoiding the pitfalls that have befallen other "superior" debaters.
