I was so hoping that Sarah Palin would come out and be herself, even if she has politics that we can't stand. At least we could then respect her authenticity, which has been what she's run on in Alaska, and what has been the secret of her popularity. My husband and I can't even recognize this person giving the speech. Groomed to the max, guys. She's playing the part that they've given her.

As an Alaskan, I apologize for this, even though we had nothing to do with it, since she wasn't vetted in Alaska. I'm glad she's bombing for the sake of the country, but I'm kind of embarrassed that she's being made to "perform" in this way.

We must defeat these people.

here, especially with respect to energy issues, pipelines, etc. I'm not listening to her speech now (too painful), but it would be hard to imagine her making a speech where she's trashing the Dems. She has powerful enemies here in the Republican party, so it was always to her advantage to court the Democrats and Independents (and AIP). When she comes back here, her reputation will be tarnished.
