Biden says Palin ‘warrants respect’ -- Disagreements will be based on issue positions
Biden says Palin ‘warrants respect’
Posted: 08:04 PM ET

Biden said he would debate Palin with respect.

SARASOTA, Florida (CNN) – Joe Biden again refused to attack the experience of GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, hours before she was to deliver a speech sharply critical of the Democratic ticket.

At an event in Sarasota, a voter asked Biden how he would debate Palin when she “was not prepared to face an international crisis.”

Biden offered a strong rebuke.

“Well look, the answer is one word: with respect,” he said. “She is the governor of a state. She warrants respect.”

He told the crowded high school gymnasium he would debate Palin on the issues, not on her experience of governor of Alaska.

“It will be determined by what her positions are,” Biden said. “Our disagreements will be based upon how fundamentally, if it is fundamental, and I expect it's likely to be, her views on everything form the Supreme Court, protecting a woman's right, all the way up to ending the war in Iraq. That's what it's going to be based upon.”

3. This is smart.
By the time the debates come around, people will be completely sick of hearing how Failin is the governor of a lame state and has no real experience. When Joe tears into her on the issues, people will think to themselves "What does she have left?"

Good stuff. It's nice to have Democrats who want to win, again. It's been too long.

4. Great strategy
Really, the temptation to join in the bash-fest must be strong, but Obama and Biden are mature enough to keep the high ground.

5. Agree, but...
Some privacy matters should be covered because they illustrate Palin's hypocrisy.

Let the media/tabloids do the vetting on her background. Obama/Biden can focus on the issues.

10. I wish someone would have the chutzpah to call it for the cynical douche-
baggery that it is.

Why does everyone always fall over backwards not to offend the Reps? They never worry about offending us.

After all the crap that Hillary got and the shit that the Reps pull slamming every candidate we ever put up, this totally unqualified woman deserves respect? :wtf: :banghead:

I'm not talking about you, OP, but the whole concept....

15. Good cop, bad cop.
I'm sure you've heard of "Good Cop, Bad Cop". Well, Repukes don't practice it. When they slime our guys, the name of their candidate is all over the attacks. That means that they lose points for playing dirty, but the idea is that their opponent who was slimed lost more points.

Obama/Biden seem to be using a new strategy that is the best of both worlds. You see, us here on the "liberal internet" are the "bad cops". What we do is dig up the dirt, get all up in the muckety-muck, and kneecap the crap out of the Repuke candidates. Thanks to the information economy, our muckraking bleeds into the mainstream media, damaging the other candidates. Now, Obama and Biden denounce us as being a bunch of fringe element nobodies, or even Republican false flag operatives, and virtually none of the stigma of playing dirty sticks to them.

Pretty neat, huh?

Joe knows how to play rope-a-dope as does Barack.

Let Palin sound like a shrill version of Sally Field tonight,
attacking the media and Barack. Her schtick will get old,
fast.
