Tonight will be Palin's first national speech
she's blessed with low expectations. She's going to get terrific energy and feedback from the crowd, but can she deliver to those outside the hall? Will she attack Obama and/or Biden? How is she holding up under the pressure? It'll be interesting to see.

1. The media is applying "The Bush Standard."
If she doesn't drool or break into nervous giggles it will be the greatest speesh of modern history.

5. That's exactly how it will go. "BRILLIANT speech! The crowd was ELECTRIFIED!"
"She spoke and didn't say 'like' or 'cool' as much as expected. She DESTROYED THE COMPETITION!"

You watch. It will be awful but I'll be watching and expecting just this.

2. Worst case senario - A Nixon checkers speech.
I guess we will also find out if she's seen a voice therapist yet ;)

3. It will be "lash out at the liberals who want to destroy me" time tonight.
Those gay lovin', abortion lovin, teaching evolution lovin' liberals are out to destroy me and our fight to restore America's family values. And the crowd will eat it up.

4. I'm expecting her to deliver as expected. I then expect the "liberal" media
to gush on endlessly about how great she is. By tomorrow morning, she'll be the best thing to come along since sliced bread.

6. Does she have a slight Canadian accent?
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 07:01 AM by lapfog_1
Sometimes I hear it. Is that normal for people living in Alaska?

I hope the same Pawlenty supporter is running the teleprompter again. The gaff from last night for that poor old GOP lady was priceless.

9. There is no single Canadian accent, but her speech is inflected and influenced by Canadianisms.

7. Raise the expectations:
Raise the expectations. Palin is skilled with media. She has a degree in journalism / communications. One of her first jobs was as a TV anchor in Alaska. She knows what she is doing.

11. Yes
She could shit herself and turn blue and the media will have sympathy and make stuff up about how she had character. If she delivers a mediocre to good speech she'll be the gateway to heaven. She cannot lose tonight.

12. She will read the teleprompter
a speech that was not written by her
and she will be lauded a freekin genius.

So apparent the only bar tonight is the ability to read
and since she's a former sportscaster, she should
be able to accomplish that.

As for the writing, it will be finely crafted
republican swill from their best writers.
expect them to overplay the Mom part to
sickening degree... and they will have Palin
go on direct attack against Obama - they
will try to make it appear personal and sexist.
TherRepublicans will go nuts for it while the
rest of the country reaches for their barf bags.
