Mary Mitchell nails it re: Palin's/conservative hypocrisy about teenage pregnancy. . .
. . .I think this column is good because its not about the daughter its about the hypocrisy of how Palin and the GOP are handling the issue of teen pregnancy when it affects them during an election year:

-snip-
Malarkey.

When an unmarried 17-year-old girl comes up pregnant on the South Side of Chicago, Republicans don't make it sound like a beautiful thing.

They call it tragic and a moral failure, and they often blame the teen's parents.

There's no way to put a positive spin on a teen in this kind of trouble.
-snip-

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family," Palin said.

More malarkey.

This is not good news, nor is it something the average woman wants to deal with, especially in the public arena.

2. This stuff is really getting to me. I actually woke up this morning
and the very first thought that came into my head was Sarah Palin has way too many family problems to be Vice President of the United States. Does she realize she will have to move to Wash DC? Is that fair to her family? According to Republicans, this would be a very selfish act on her part. If she really loves her family, she will decline the offer.

3. Some good will come from it..
the republicons can STFU now about their morality lectures on unwed teens ..telling them abstinence works and not funding sex education.

"Still, some good can come from all of this after all.

Conservatives like Palin have been hard on young, unwed, pregnant women in urban areas.

Maybe now that she is in the same boat, they'll show a little more compassion."

9. K&R
Ed Shultz ( I think that's his name) was HAMMERING this point home on Larry King last night. He was AMAZING.

The hypocrisy and Republicans claiming to have a lock on morality is the door that's been opened for us here by McCains insane choice of VP.

Their very own words about Palin's daughter are what WE USE to demolish the notion that the republican Party holds any moral highground much less that voters should look to them to uphold those "morals"!

It's about time We tell like it is and LAUGH in their faces when they even THINK of claiming to have the moral highground - On ANY thing!

as Obama said: ENOUGH!
