things my father taught me about fighting
my dad is a cool old guy
fought his way across the pacific and served in korea too
he knows about fighting
when my brother (GRHS) and i were little he knew that fighting was inevitable
so he made us ready
a lot of people here seem to believe that fighting equates you to your opponent
a lot of excuses are made for our opponents poor actions and fighting back is decried as beneath us
so heres the things my dad taught me about fighting

never fight if you dont have to
try to reason first

if you do have to fight hit first
hit often
hit accurately

once a fight starts there are NO rules
they are defined by the winner

keep focus and make every shot hurt

use whatever presents itself to hurt your opponent
trash can lid brick whatever

keep your hands up and your elbows in

and never listen to the sayings about never kick a man when he is down
when he is down is the time to kick him harder and in the head
son of a bitch might get up again

if you have to fight make sure you win

now go kick the GOP in the ass for my dad please?

Personally ascribe to the George Forman school, You can hit me all you want, But when I hit back, its going to be so hard your ancestors are gonna feel it, because Im gonna knock you into last Tuesday with each hit.

And that was my 1000 post wohooo just noticed.

People are still fighting the Civil War in the South because what General Sherman did was considered out of bounds.

28. A statement like that needs evidence
What exactly is 100% known about mccain or Obama as President that could even be possibly
considered as life changing for you or any of us?

Maybe if you have a marker on Obama winning and a hitman coming after you if he loses?
Mccain has promised to personally attack Egnever if he wins?

Really. What on Earth could this election do to any of us that we could not undo ourselves?

30. Well lets see
My son has juvenile diabetes. His health care costs alone are enough to put me in the poor house if not for pure luck that we currently have a health care plan that is very good but each year the benefits get trimmed a little more.

Cures for diabetes that have shown the most promise are related to stem cell research so taking that off the table had very large consequences for my family.

My wife is a teacher so the no child left behind crap has a direct relationship to her lively hood.

Need I go on or is that enough for you ?

Good luck on that.

BTW - this is the second time I've been accused of sock puppetry. Pretty funny stuff. Some of us don't need another account to hide behind. People who do that should try owning up to their shit some time. It's liberating.

33. That helps
Same here with the NCLB teacher victim in the family. Affects my lively hood too.

Possibly the health care will be better with Obama but I expected that with the Clinton's too.

As for stem cell research I hope to heaven we can get that in full swing as soon as possible.
Not sure how much eliminating embryos is holding things up (other countries are using them) but
the pace and funding of stem cells needs a serious kick in the butt.

23. A Temporary Win
Combined with years of embitterment.

The north won. Look where we are now. How much of the current imbalance is because the south despised "Yankees."

17. Rules my mama taught me.
Avoid fighting and use your words
Try to get the person to understand your point of view

If you are attacked, defend yourself, bite, scratch, and claw. If all else fails, a knee to the groin most likely will help.

I learned girl's rules back in the 1950s.

19. I remember a little of what my karate teacher said years ago.
Don't fight a guy who has a gun.
If you are certain, absolutely certain, that the other guy is going to hit you, hit him first, and hard. My teacher used to scare the new students whenever he gave this advice, because then he'd slam one fist into the other palm, and say "Pearl Harbor!" I thought it made his point, but it also makes the point that winning now may not mean winning in the long term.

26. Violence is the last refuge of the incompentent...
...but sometimes a fight is forced upon you. I'm not quite a pacifist; I admire the minimum necessary use of force, but not this kick-him-when-he's-down-by-any-means-necessary stuff.

Fight if you have to, to defend the lives of those you hold dear. In between, manage your affairs so that you have to fight as rarely as possible.
