I say they wait til after the RNC and announce Friday at 11:30pm
First with a campaign spokeman, then Saturday Around 11am with a press conference.

3. I say floor fight at the convention. After the NYT and the LATimes articles TOMORROW.
Look for protests an tear gas outside,

Blood on the floor inside.

Fucking place is going to be a slaughterhouse...

4. How does this work, if they officially confirm her as the VP nominee at the convention?
To change that, do they have to get together and send out smoke signals in some sort of weird Vatican-like pope ceremony or what?

5. I thought there was no way she'd be dumped
But now that the MSM has latched on to this stuff, and it's become clear that she wasn't vetted properly,

She's toast.

7. Tomorrow. They can't let her speak. Why delay the inevitable?
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 02:26 AM by A-Schwarzenegger
The cost of dumping her is increasingly smaller
than keeping her and letting this eat away at McCain
and the campaign day after day after day. And when she
starts answering questions from reporters, it will
only get worse and worse.

8. I say they'll wail until after the vp debate....
if she's toast anyway, what do they care if she makes an ass of herself
going up against someone like Biden?

That way, whoever steps in doesn't have to debate him, either!

Win - win situation for them....they think.

10. My guess is she'll last longer
than people here think. Wait until McCain says "I stand behind her 1,000 per cent." Two days after that she'll be out.

17. I would put it about mid October
First the Republicans have to assemble a portfolio of Democrat 'Hate Speech' about her. Then they put in someone whom they hope will get their poll numbers up along with the sympathy support. The theme will be 'look what those mean Democrats have done to poor Sarah',

It won't work, the Republicans are already toast in this election.

14. You beat me to it -- I think she'll still be the nominee as of Election Day
I'll add a side bet: If she is still the nominee as of Election Day, there will be at least one Republican faithless elector voting for Romney or Ridge or some such quasi-respectable person.

22. If people think she'll drop out
They don't understand republicans. I work with them everyday. Palin's a hero to them. She's everything the stand for. She could be pregnant by another woman and they wouldn't care.

23. I think you are right
Do you really think it is going to bother them that she was not vetted? They will use the pregnancy story to their advantage, and further score big points with the sheeple. Do people really think the fact that she is under investigation is going to matter? All they have to do is say it was politically motivated. If her speech is terrible people will relate to her for being so "normal" and different from typical Washington. I cannot stand her but I think we are planning a party when we should be planning a fight!

19. Ain't gonna happen.
In addition, for those that thought the hurricane was a blessing for the Democrats, not so, it was a blessing for the Republicans. The longer they can keep the convention quiet, inside at least, the better off they are. Not going to help, but...

31. Late next week
McCain will, in a fit of stubbornness, stay with her through this week. There will be a moment over the weekend akin to taking the car keys of the party away from grandpa when other high level party officials force him to dump her, they'll scramble to quickly vet Romney or something and announce between Wed and Fri.

Or, the whole thing could just come off the tracks on live TV...

34. it's not gonna happen
I think Palin energizes their base, and adds some flare to the McCain camp. She may be a looney, but she's the looney everyone's talking about, and that's good news for the other side.
