RNC Spin on Protests: "This is what we went to war to protect."
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 12:12 PM by Sparkly
The war was to protect free speech in the US?

When was Iraq ever a threat to our free speech?!?

Was there ever a threat to free speech greater than the post-9/11 Bush administration?

Edited to explain: Terry Hold just said it to Wolfie: "This is why we went to war, to protect the right to free speech."

6. riiiiiight. if they hadnt rammed through the patriot act, the iraqi war,
and made sure to threaten everyone with the swarming enforcement in nyc and their 156 decibel horns and all the rest of their "subtle" intimidation

then MAYBE they would have the slightest credibility in saying that

its so wonderful to know theres sanity - by watching cspan i can know, again, that a great deal of the country and so many various groups and people of all kinds are united in wanting bush out

Are these 972 dead Americans free to speak now? How about their families and loved ones, do republicans let them freely speak about the war and what they are now going through with their lose? Has President George W. Bush even once met with the families of the troops who have sacrificed their lives in this war? Just more Bushit!

9. Ironic
My guess is many of those protesters wouldn't even be there if not for the invasion of Iraq.

We went to war to protect your right to have a dollar menu at McD's. We went to war to protect your right to breathe the air. We went to war to protect your right to piss in your swimming pool."

Did I miss any?
