1. Looks like Bushco should have gone elsewhere for Repub lovefest!
Wow- Thanks for posting, I was wondering if the NYC protests would get much coverage. So far, the coverage has greatly exceeded my expectations.

I've been following it for days and it really is good. Wonderful angle at 6th and 34th. You can see the volume of the march is vast!

12. If I hadn't injured my knee, I'd have been there.
The bad news is that I never thought of a wheel chair, until I saw one, and feeling mighty *sad. :(
The good news is that the rest of my family is there, and feeling mighty proud! :)

*stupid :silly:

5. Wonderful interviews on the street in the midst of the parade too!
CSpan is now interviewing people in street who are fantastically eloquent and thoughtful in their remarks. Impressive with lots of older protestors as well as younger ones and all look very thrilled to be participating-

"Everyone here is peaceful and just waiting for our chance to vote"- great statement just made by one woman.

15. There was a large Nixon "counter-Inauguration"
on the Mall in Washington DC on Jan. 20, 1973. I went to George Washington University which is just blocks away, so I could easily attend lots of demonstrations.

the same question. There were a few election years that I lived outside the USA -but I don't recall anything like what we are seeing today and I've been around since FDR.

27. My Dad worked in Chicago during the protest in the 60's
He tells a story of the workers sleeping in the building where he worked at because they were afraid to go out into the crowd.

28. Nothing like this...
There were huge demonstrations during the Johnson and Nixon administrations, but they were antiwar protests, not so much specific anti-president or administation protests like this. And nothing like this during a party convention (Chicago '68 was a police riot).
