James Dobson PERSONALLY VETTED Sarah Palin
this morning we find out that the Council For National Policy (CNP) -- a secretive cabal of which Dobson and Tony Perkins are members -- personally vetted Palin in Minneapolis.

Last week, while the media focused almost obsessively on the DNC's spectacle in Denver, the country's most influential conservatives met quietly at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis to get to know Sarah Palin. The assembled were members of the Council for National Policy, an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy.

This is a big scandal, right? That James Dobson is picking the Vice President of the United States? Not at all. So far the media are painting this selection -- not as a total cave to his own extremist fundie base -- but more evidence of McSame's maverick ways.

The fact is, McSame the Maverick wasn't allowed to pick the candidate he thought would make the best vice president by the wing of his own party he once called "the agents of intolerance." If he can't stand up to James Dobson, how can we trust him to stand up to al Qaeda?

Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 09:03 PM by patrice
The $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$s need to guarantee a voting bloc to whatever office holders they have left after the GE. They also need something for Re-cross-overs to come back to later. Fundies are very obedient.

They had to know this would blow up. Are they trying to replace McCain with one of their own?

24. He was too distracted beating his dog into submission
and showering with his young son in order to show him who the real man of the family was, to pay attention to the vetting process.

The Religious Right's reign on the American public is close to an end.

Now,the RNC knoww it to be true as well.

Dobson's responsible for torpedoing their presidential bid with this failure of a VP nominee. If I were a Replublican, I would be pissed.

33. It was obvious that he at least had a hand in it. The morning of the announcement
the talking heads announced that Dobson had endorsed them within minutes of the announcement.

His words: "If changing your mind is a sin, I'm a sinner."

I highly doubt that had he NOT been involved in the selection that he would have even had time to consider endorsing the ticket, reversing his previous position, let alone release a statement within minutes of the announcement.
