OK... the A.I.P issue has surely got to sink Palin.
Now that it's started to get traction. I can't see how they can spin their way out out this issue. After all, we're talking about a secessionist movement here. With so-called patriotism being the litmus test for any Democrat, Palin surely fails here in a huge way, former member, or not.

4. AIP is an anti-American secessionist party in Alaska.
Palin used to be a member.

5. Sarah Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party,
a straightforwardly-named outfit advocating Alaska's secession from the US. Also a lot of militia-kookiness at work, of course. And now she expects to be VP of a nation she would dismember.

6. Here's why it won't... Palin's running as a Republican ...
... and the patriotism of Republicans is beyond question, especially the patriotism of anyone endorsed by John McCain, a former POW.

18. Oh, I wholly agree with you on "needs" and "should"...
... but won't hold my breath.

You're entirely right, and this should become the main push... link her previous party membership with the recent YouTube videos of her praising the AIP... and the AIP head claiming she joined the Repubs to "go along" and that the AIP needs to "infiltrate" the major parties in order to move their agenda forward.

26. vf scary. but it won't phase the religious fundies ...
... since they'd put all else aside to get one of their own into the White House. (I fear that Palin will make Bush look like an ACLU advocate.)

I was hoping she'd be an anchor around McSame for weeks. She may be out before Wednesday at this rate. Of course, McSame has pissed off all the good VP picks, to maybe he'll get impulsive again.

27. Hey! I'm willing to change
my party affiliation to run for VP. I'm just as qualified as Palin (I deliver Pizza's in NE Ohio), but without the baggage (Never been married, ergo no kids. And get along well with all my in-laws(even the Repub ones!))! I'll even try to avoid speaking to the President (since it would have to be McCain.) It would be a nice pay raise.

11. Bull. more distracton from "It’s The Corruption, Stupid"
"It’s The Corruption, Stupid" = Abramoff, McCain, Palin & the GOP
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6870492

from dKos:

John McCain is not a reformer, a "maverick" or even a honest man. ALL of this is a carefully crafted myth!

And now McCain has a Mini-Me—a younger version of himself. The Republican Party has manufactured yet another "reformer with results’ in the mold of McCain and his patron, George W. Bush and now she is on the ticket.

I’m talking, of course, about the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. And to become Governor, she defeated the only Republican ever to oppose Jack Abramoff BEFORE the Abramoff scandal became news.......

28. I worry the media will not present it that way and instead
will just say she was registered Independant for some time, thus attracting even more Independant votes for McCain.
