Palin rumored to be preparing for RNC speech in Minnesota
Updated: 09/01/2008 04:28 PM

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- There's word from the McCain campaign that Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin is in the Twin Cities getting ready for her speech.

We spoke with the Chariman of "McCain for President" from New York State, Ed Cox, who said Governor Sarah Palin reminds him of Richard Nixon's fit on the republican ticket back in 1952. Although Palin has little foreign policy experience, Cox believes she'll be able to learn on the job.

Palin rumored to be preparing for RNC speech in Minnesota
There's word from the McCain campaign that Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin is in the Twin Cities getting ready for her speech.

"Like President Nixon, when he was Vice President, like Dwight Eisenhower, had not that much experience on the world. And he learned, as did Harry Truman. He made some of the best decisions that were made by any president of the United States when he ordered the Berlin airlift against the advice from all his advisors," Cox said.

So far, no public events have been scheduled for Governor Palin. She has been in the headlines though, after the McCain campaign released a statement from Palin and her husband Todd, saying their 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. The couple also says the unmarried teen plans to keep her baby and marry the baby's father.

WOW and she's going to "learn on the job". WTF?!? What happened to McInsane's first priortiy?

1. Nixon was a Rep. and a Senator before becoming VP
and therefore had much more experience than Palin. The media is trying to spin her lightweight resume into some grand qualification, but comparing her to Nixon is ridiculous.

3. The Trickster was also a legit WWII Navy vet
nothing glamorous like JFK, but that wasn't his fault. He served honorably. Nixon also graduated from Duke Law, a prestigious school even then.

Thirty years ago I couldn't imagine that I would be sincerely defending Richard Nixon on a Democratic forum. Just how far have the Repukes fallen?

6. Me too. While I was typing that post it's what I was thinking
I think it's the first time I ever defended Nixon for anything.

7. Comparing Palin to Nixon is incredibly unfair
to Nixon. Nixon was a highly intelligent man who happened to suffer from paranoia, jealousy of the Kennedys and delusions of inadequacy. Nixon was not a lightweight, he was a person who gave in to his own demons. He would have been a terrific Secretary of State in the administration of another Republican president.

Let us not forget that his daughter Julie and her husband David have maxed out in contributions to Obama and have publicly endorsed him. Nixon left something good behind in the form of his daughter and SIL.

5. I think she'd be better served by making reservations to an undisclosed location.

8. Wow! She's actually preparing fo this one!
Good for her!! It's nice to see she can learn from her oh-so-bad "That isn't why a ship is built" acceptance speech.
