Will any candidate ever be good enough for the Democrats...
it seems as though no matter who the candidate is some Dems seem to need to find something wrong with them and some reason why they can't vote for them. They aren't saying something about an issue in the correct way or they aren't for some specific issue.

They are too far too the left or too far too the right and some of the more so called sophisticated people in politics seem to be the main people who seem to be searching for some reason to not to vote for the Dems but, these are the same people for the past 7 yrs screaming and ranting about the RepubliCONS and how we need to get rid of them. No, I don't think that anyone needs to just fall in line and vote for the Dems but what in the hell do they want because we will never get the perfect candidate.

1. I think there are a whole lot of Democrats that are ecstatic with the current ticket.
Count me as one.

2. The problematic word is "some"
I can imagine no candidate that would appease the issues of all Dems. We are a big tent. We all have our own ideals and ideas. No matter how wonderful the candidate he/she is not going to satisfy every Democrat.

3. That goes for the Republicans too
Just talked to my right wing son and he always finds everything under the sun wrong with every Democrat. There is no Democrat worthy of his praise, not one.

5. I talk to some people like him..
and no matter what you say to them and they will find some issue to disagree with as though they have ever gotten everything they wanted from any candidate. A lot of repubs don't even try to listen they don't care if they are being effected negatively that is why nothing ever changes..We just keep on doing the same things the same way.

6. We expect more out of people. It is that simple. We see the innate
goodness in all and seek that in all our candidates.

The Republicans just do not care.

We do not settle for less.

9. And the problem with that is that such
insistence on total ideological purity on EVERY issue is almost impossible to attain. It's like the person who insists on all or nothing. He can't have it all, so he gets nothing. It's called reality.

13. It is not a matter of purity. Purity never showed up in my response
It is looking for the best we can find and bringing out the best we can.

IOW We expect more. We do not settle.

When we settle we get Bush. We get Reagan.

History vindicates us on a daily basis.

FDR, Kennedy, Clinton
Hoover, Reagan, Bush

7. I've often had this very same issue with many
progressives/liberals, too many. They want the candidate to be 100% in line with their thinking on EVERY SINGLE issue, and it just ain't gonna work that way, ever. The insistence on total ideological purity no matter what is what has brought us so many defeats over the past several decades. The repubs understand that so much better than we do, which is a major reason for their electoral successes over the years.

There's also too much inter-group squabbling, which has been another major problem. The repubs for forty years have been focused on one single goal, which is getting control of all three branches of the government, from the smallest local positions on up. One of the major ways they did it was unity among all groups, at least publicly. They still had their disagreements, disaffections and squabbles among and between the different sections, factions and groups. But they put those aside to come together for the overall goal. And they largely succeeded using just that strategy, from the grassroots on up. Of course, that's also part of their problem now. Once they reached that goal, total unity was much harder to maintain, hence all the cracks and divisions now. But we really need to be much more unified and focused and stop all of this destructive interfaction squabbling and insistence on total ideological purity. Otherwise, we're gonna remain in the wilderness.

14. As we now see ...
the republiCONS know this woman is not qualified but they will fall in line just to keep power and continue the destruction of this country because they know that the rightwing nuts will really be running everything no matter who is their candidate. The ones in and out of power.
