Bob Barr on CNN right now
Barr: They should have vetted Palin more... Done very quickly and secretively.

21. McCain will state that he was in prison camp when Eagleton wasn't vetted properly, in 1972
McCain will state that he was in prison camp when Eagleton wasn't vetted properly, in 1972. McCain was released in 1973.

Eagleton was announced by George McGovern as his running mate July 14, 1972, but it was soon found that "Between 1960 and 1966, Eagleton checked himself into the hospital three times for physical and nervous exhaustion, receiving electric shock treatments twice." Eagleton withdrew August 1.

17. There is no way in hell that Texas will let it happen to the 2 candidates
But I really hope Barr fights nail and tooth (a little for my enjoyment).

A girl can dream, right? :-)

11. They were both suggesting that McCain blew it when he had the chance to pick Jindal
Rick Sanchez and Bob Barr were speculating about how the GOP could have cynically exploited this tragic situation in Louisiana by picking Jindal as the VP candidate (they didn't recognize it as such but that's what it boils down to), who apparently is looking half way competent. And they said by contrast that Palin looked like a weak pick.

16. He also said
that he knows the repukes are glad to not have to be in the spotlight this week due to the hurricane and it allowed them to not have McCain seen with Shrub and Darth. He also said that no one wanted to see 5 days of their boring convention.

22. Bob Barr, as head of the GAO at the time...
...called bullshit on the "Clintons trashed the White House" stories that kicked off the Bush years. Never forget that: It was straight up lies right out of the gate.
