Polar Bears: spreading the message
How do we get the word out that she sued Bush Administration to not name Polar Bears as endangered species? I think this could be seen as very extreme by many mainstream voters. Is there any video footage some of our Alaskans may have of local news discussing this? Could anyone on here do a youtube video using the Polar Bears from the Coca-Cola commercials. Smething funny that could be a big hit on youtube? Any thoughts or ideas on this?

1. What about paying $150 per dead wolf shot from an airplane?
Surely wolf lovers won't be thrilled either.

2. Yeah, I've thought about this.
If I were skilled at such things, or had the time to tinker with it, I'd want to put together some kind of video. Hopefully someone else will beat me to it ... otherwise will see what I can throw together. Not sure if "funny" is the approach to take (though there could be more than one version, of course), but the word definitely has to go out.

4. I'll bet you some Animal Rights organization is bound to run an ad.
This is just too awful for them not to.

5. I'd be surprised if animal conservation groups don't start agitating against Palin
They have huge email lists. If I were them, I'd cut commercials with drowning polar bears,
nursing caribou and shot wolves with Palin's visage superimposed underlined by quotes
from papers about her stands on pro-ANWR drilling, suing to prevent polar bears from
being listed as endangered, and using taxpayer money to fund shooting a protected
species from helicopters.

7. I totally agree. Even the most callous among us must get a tear
in their eye when they see the plight of the polar bear. One who could do this would be Sara MacLaughlin - that commercial she does with the animals makes me cry every time I see it, especially with "In the Arms of an Angel" playing in the background. I can't believe a whole lot of people share Palin's view of animals - I refuse to believe it.

8. Palin is every conservationist's nightmare pol
She wants to log every forest, drill offshore and inland, shoot anything with a pelt and gut the EPA
even more than BushCo.

6. I think this is an extremely critical angle from which to work.
The vast majority of Americans want protections for endangered species - ESPECIALLY those who have been anthropomorphized in popular culture (e.g., polar bears). I think a really melancholy ad about Palin's disregard for the plight of the polar bear could make a big impact.
