So, I visited the John F. Kennedy Library yesterday and listened to his speeches,
I tell you I had chills listening to him. All I could think about was listening to Obama and listening to Kennedy - and how I felt similiarly inspired and moved.

My parents were with us, and my children and niece and nephew. We walked through the library, and listened to speeches from various points during his life (before politics and thru the time of his death). At different times, one of my parents would be talking to one of the kids, motioning to pictures and explaining what had happened at that time. My parents talked about how JFK and Robert Kennedy inspired them. They said, that is why we are so excited about Senator Obama. It was amazing.

The kids realized what their parents and grandparents meant all these years, talking about the inspiration of JFK. They realized why we are so excited about Obama - and how rare and wonderful a person Obama is. I had them all watch on Thursday night - and while they really liked him, they don't necessarily have two many other presidents to compare him to - other than Bush. They are beginning to understand that this is a really special moment - that even among Democratic Presidents, Obama rises to the top.

I feel so fortunate to be living in a time - our time - when we are inspired to be better and to do better. Thank you Senator and soon to be President Obama. I pray you win the presidency, and I pray you stay safe.

1. Did you hear Ted Sorensen at the DNC? He was Kennedy's speechwriter
It would given you chills to hear him compare Obama to JFK
