Bob Barr: The "Out" for Republicans Embarrassed by McCain's Pick.
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 04:53 PM by David Zephyr
John McCain's weird VP pick may send Wall Street free-marketeers, pro-choice Republican women and their country club husbands fleeing to the harbor of Bob Barr's presidency.

Before McCain made his bizarre choice of Sarah Palin over Mitt Romney or Kay Bailey Hutchison, former Georgian Congressman and Libertarian Presidential Candidate, Bob Barr was already creeping up in poll after poll -- in spite of the fact that the corporate news media were doing their best not to report that "news".

But the polling news for Barr's candidacy was quite surprising even before the Sarah Palin announcement stunned many self-professed moderate Republicans who already resent the religious right's hold on their party.

The pre-Palin polls had Bob Barr already at 11% in New Hampshire and 10% in Nevada!

I can't help but believe that the lunacy of the Palin pick will push Barr's stock higher with disgruntled and embarrassed Republicans.

And that is really great news for us.

Bob Barr for President? Be sure to tell a Republican friend or co-worker.

Atlanta, GA - While Senators John McCain and Barack Obama spar over their houses and their vice president picks, Libertarian Party presidential nominee Bob Barr picks up steam in several battleground states that will play a key role in determining the outcome of the November election. "It's hard to ignore the numbers," says Barr, who is polling in double-digits in some states according to a recent Zogby International poll released last week.

According to the poll results for 10 battleground states released on Aug. 23, Barr is polling at 11 percent in New Hampshire and 10 percent in Nevada. Barr is also polling 8 percent in Ohio, and has similar numbers across the country.

1. I hope Barr gets 5 states.
These fetus worshippers have to be kept out of government.

2. Zogby on Barr:
John Zogby, President and CEO of Zogby International, says that Barr "certainly can be" a significant factor in the upcoming election, and "can also throw McCain off balance with libertarian conservatives

11. Thanks for the interactive Zogby map. Barr is eating into McCain. This will grow.
McCain's got a two front war now against Obama and Barr.

Barr has crossed the 10% "bar" in several states now. That's a very big deal.

The Palin choice will help Barr erode more Republicans away from McCain.

4. I'm donating to Barr's campaign
Democrats would be wise to do so. A vote for Barr on November 4th is a vote for Obama/Biden.

6. Hi ClarkUSA. Bob Barr was polling a whopping 8% in Ohio before the Palin choice.
Bob Barr must be licking his chops and ready to bite into McCain over this weird pick.

Thanks for weighing in.

8. Hi DZ.... Barr is a godsend this year, that's for sure
Between Barr and Ron Paul write-ins, McCain will lose precious percentage points in swing states this year.

Nice to be back.

7. I doubt he'll get much more than 2 or 3 percent, but
even that is enough to swing some states Obama's way.

12. Every percent he draws away from McCain is sweet to us.
The other thing is that Nader is polling at 1% and less and that is also very, very sweet.

13. I'd love to see a poll of Texas with Barr in the running. It's only a 10 point race now head to head

15. Has he picked a VP yet?
I wonder if Ron Paul would be willing to combine his movement with Barr's.

16. Wayne Allyn Root, a free-marketeer, no tax former TV anchor
He's also from Nevada which may explain why Barr is doing well there.

He worships Barry Goldwater.
