4. He lost it months ago, but he's desperately trying to keep
his ignorant base within the realm of what is left of the GOP.

15. Feast for these
eyes! Did I read that right when ron fournier wrote something based on fact?

AP (Ron Fournier) "She is younger and less experienced than the first-term Illinois senator, and brings an ethical shadow to the ticket. Just 20 months ago, she was mayor of Wasia, Alaska, a town of 6,500 where the biggest issue is controlling growth and the biggest annual worry is whether there will be enough snow for the Iditarod dog-mushing race Palins lack of experience flies in the face of GOP charges that Obama is not ready to be commander in chief. McCain himself has said he was determined to avoid a pick like Dan Quayle, the little-known Indiana senator George H.W. Bush put on his ticket in 1988 in a choice that proved embarrassingBut, as McCain suggested himself, his 72nd birthday is a reminder that age and experience matter". 9. LOL. My favorite quote
Dallas Morning News (EDITORIAL)

... Ms. Palin, 44, has been governor for only two years. The office she held before that one was mayor of a town about the size of Midlothian.

....

:spray: Well, that comparison certainly brings it home for Texans.

13. How much stuff like this matters depends on how Palin performs at the Repugnant Convention
If she gives a dynamite speech at the Republican Convention, then despite the fact that she looks really, really weak on paper, then all the pundits and editorial writers will start to eat their words. If she gives a poor speech and looks out her league, the pundit class will pile on -- heavily. So a lot of pressure is on her. She will get her moment in the spotlight, and she will either blow it or shine. There's no in between. My money is on her blowing it. She's never been on anything like this kind of stage, under anything like this kind of pressure.

Remember, it was a speech at the 2004 Convention, when Obama wasn't yet a Senator but still a state legislator that propelled him into the national spotlight. If Palin gives a performance of that caliber, she's will have a major impact on this race. If she doesn't McCain is in some serious trouble.

It's a high stakes gamble on McCain's part. But it does have some (slim) chance of yielding major dividends for him. Let's see what happens before we get too gleeful. (THough like I said, I'm not expecting much.)

14. And quite a few editorials agree.
"Miami Herald: McCains veep choice has Florida risks, rewards (Marc Caputo, Mary Ellen Klas) Political strategists say Clintons rank-and-file supporters will be tough for McCain and Palin to win. The tickets strong anti-abortion positions make them anathema to liberal Democrats concentrated in places such as South FloridaOn Friday, she may have made her first official flip flop, saying that she opposed the so-called bridge to nowhere that became a symbol of pork-barrel Washington spending. Yet in 2006, her spokesman told the Associated Press that she supported the project LINK <http://www.miamiherald.com/486/story/665054.html >

She LIED.

Chicago Tribune (Mark Silva)"When Obama was looking at Democratic Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia as a possible running mate, Karl Rove, the architect of President Bushs election campaigns, dismissed his experience - a governor for three years and mayor of 103rd largest Richmond. Were not sure where Wasila ranks." LINK <http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08... >

Snout man blows it again.

Thanks, Hope And Change!
