Was Palin even vetted?
I don't think the McCain team even vetted Sarah Palin. I think they where all set to pick Gov. Polenta and then they got a call from the bosses. We heard NOTHING about her before today. There was some speculation online but NOTHING from the media. Does anyone really think that they could keep her name totally off the radar? McCain never even met with her in the last few months! You could absolutely see how uncomfortable he was on that stage today.

Picking her was an absolute hail mary and I don't think McCain thought it through. His one strength, experience, is now shot. Palin's ethics are questionable and could blow up in their faces. Her husband is creepy (remember it was Fereraro's husband that really took down her and Mondale.) In every interview I have heard she comes off as batshit insane and just doesn't make sense. All I keep asking myself is what the fuck where they thinking. Maybe I am wrong and she will be a good campaigner and come out of the ethics investigation clean. But I just can't see it.

11. The campaign is saying that and MSNBC is reporting it.
Obviously, from what has come out in the nine hours since the announcement, she was not fully vetted.

4. Hell yes, she was vetted.
And found to have just the barely acceptable minimum of scandal-taint to qualify as a Republican politician.

I am sorry, no matter how pissed you are about the loss of HRC, you do not go from there to this Anti-Choose, Evangelical freak. If you do, then I say, GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE YOU DUMB ASS DINOS...

Honestly, if this move is to win those PUMAs over, take em... all 30 of them

24. I supported Biden and then Obama. This is about a media narrative to steal an election
it has nothing to do with actual facts.

6. i think gop vetting involves a lot of small bills in non sequential order and the master list
of possible embarrassments that need to be paid off.

9. I know I am just dumbfounded by this pick from McCain. He
showed with astounding clarity how bad his judgement is to want to leave it in the hands of someone who has no foreign experience especially in this time of warand has proven to be an economic disaster to the people she represents.

10. She had been mentioned as a "dark moose"... uh.... "horse" in recent weeks.
Someone at DU predicted it would NOT be her due to her ethics problems and caring for an infant.

(It's OK.... you can come out of hiding now! LOL)

Wouldn't a campaign sit go directly to McCain's real site?

25. It appears to link to the McCain site but they had to buy the domain name -
- I only checked to see if it was a legit campaign site and it seems to be. Didn't want to get into it too deep!

23. Corruption and scandal are minimum requirements for GOP candidacy.
Her achievements may be few as yet, but I think she's shown a lot of promise already. Republican leaders probably see her VP run as building the bench, ensuring crookedness for the mid-twenty-first century.
