3. Probably more to get the rabid nutjob fundie crowd.
A lot of people in Alaska work for the oil industry; hubby isn't a bigshot exec as far as I can tell, but she certainly isn't going to be objective at all under the circumstances. I don't think McAncient picked her specifically because of hubby's job, but her support of ANWAR drilling is obviously part of the total right-wing package. She also believes creationism should be taught in public schools, that all abortions should be illegal (no exceptions for rape or incest), that there's no such thing as global warming, and that polar bears shouldn't be on the endangered species list. She's awful in many, many ways.
