I am a link in the chain tonight

This is a long chain that stretches back to the promise of a country that proclaimed it's independence by declaring that "all men are created equal." That promise has never been truly fulfilled, it has instead bubbled along the surface of our history, propelling us along, urging progress and action, inspiring us to do more.

This chain contains those who fought like hell for equality and for the right to vote to come to all Americans. It is the long line of our progressive forebears who urged America to remember the poor and the elderly and to provide for our people.

I know that these causes are greater than myself and will last long after I am not here. But damn, on nights like tonight, it feels so damn good to be a link in that chain that encircles this country.

I'm just me, just TayTay, but damnit, I am a link in this chain and the chain is not complete without my little part.

I think we should all sparkle a little bit tonight. We earned it and those who came before us earned, as will those who will inherit our struggles.

Thank you everyone for getting us through this corrupt regime. I pray that we will be able to come together in November and know that we prevailed despite the Republicans election fraud and suppression.
