His VP announcement is one of the few major events he has coming up where he can secure focused media coverage of what he's doing and hope for a bit of a bounce, and he's going to try to put it up against Obama addressing 80,000 people at his official nomination. Anyone remember what happened the LAST time McCain tried to step on Obama's toes by going head to head with him on the night he had a major public event? We got Obama the consummate speaker in front of roaring crowds side by side with Lime Jello McCain with that rictus grin on his face every time he tried to chuckle at his own "that's not change you can believe in" flop of a line in front of an auditorium full of dozens of his yawning supporters.

You'd think he'd learn. All he's going to accomplish if he attempts to pull this off is to bury his VP announcement under all the coverage of Obama in Denver.
