one week after McCain makes a major gaffe that even his own side is admitting was a major gafee.
Obama picks his VP after a week of incredible anticipation and that VP pick is warmly recieved with a 60% or so approval.
and the Democratic Convention begins with a rousing speech by the ailing Dem. hero, Edward Kennedy full-throatedly endorsing Obama and a great humanizing speech by Michelle Obama.
and McCain upticks a couple points in the Gallup Poll?
How stupid does Gallup think we are?
I mean, even serious Repug pollsters have to be looking at that poll and chuckling.
in case the poll freaks you out. Think this: Obama has been ebbing a little over the last few weeks under all the attacks and going on vacation and all.
but even after that, look at the state by state polls. Even at an ebb, Obama is still beating McCain in the critical states. Say it to yourself over and over again.
Obama takes the 2004 Kerry states plus Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa, he wins. All three states are giving him a good 5 point lead or so -and this at his ebb. Not to mention it looks pretty good in Virginia and Ohio, -Obama gets a combo of any of those states, McCain is toast.
is it in the bag? -no. Lots of work left to do. Are we in a good place right now? YES! state by state polls are the ones that count -fuck Gallup, fuck Zogby, fuck Rassmussen. These national polls are bullshit propaganda meant to discouraged us. Well, it takes a bit more than some cooked up numbers from the Right Wing MSM to discourage me.
