Whose bright idea was it to let Fox News run the camera feed?
Seriously, I'm trying to figure out what the thought process was, because for the life of me I cannot understand such a ridiculous decision. Can anyone shed some light on this?

5. Oh, yes, FOX controls the camera feeds for the entire Democratic Convention.

15. it controls a handful of pool cameras
positioned to capture what is going on at the podium/stage and for some audience shots. Each network also has its own 'roaming' cameras and has a choice of which shots to take.

NBC "won" the drawing for the Republican convention.

16. Oh, thank you for telling me that, I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for the inevitable
"glitch". :eyes:

I didn't even know that they did a drawing for these things. :hi:

19. But most channels will rely on those pool cameras for footage of the speakers right?
And roving cameras will be used more for the talking heads, on the floor interviews, etc. No?

6. Hartmann said it's a revolving thing where all the networks get
a chance, and it changes every 4 years.

I've HEARD that NBC is doing the pool feeds for the Pub convention, but I haven't been able to confirm that for sure. I don't trust the source I got it from.

7. Huh, must have missed that.
I was listening in the car earlier, which is what prompted me to post this.

On one hand, I can see why they'd do that, but on the other hand... Fox News? Really? I mean come on. REALLY?

Why can't they just have C-SPAN do it? -_-

11. Welll, probably there's a LOT of ad $$'s available, and everybody
wants them! It also COULD be that somebody somewhere was actually trying to be fair and spread the wealth around between all the networks.

13. The networks could still run ads during breaks.
All the networks are covering it, and they all run their own ads. The problem is who's running the actual cameras in the convention center. So it's not a question of ad revenue.

21. That's true. Hmmmm....Do you know if the other networks have to pay
the network that has the pool feeds to be able to air them?

I KNOW one of the reasons a decision was made to use "pool reporting" was to eliminate having lots of cameras and people taking up space in the same area and all doing basically the same thing, but I can't shake the feeling that it really all boils down to $$$$!

12. Do you think the Democratic Convention is boring?
Do you see a lot of people talking while a major speech is going on? Does it seem like there are only black faces in the audience listening to the speeches? Do you think the democrats didn't hit on how awful McInsane is? Do you think the known addict Rush Limpball's operation chaos is working? Do you think there are millions of PUMAs out there?

Well it is all because Fake Fox News is controlling what you see and what you hear. Welcome to the USSR, again.

14. So if I watch the live stream on the DNC website that's coming from Fox?
I noticed some bad sound issues yesterday like what you're describing. There were times when the sound of people casually chatting in the audience was almost as loud as the person speaking and the applause was very very quiet. Interesting. And disgusting.

17. PLEASE, PLEASE! can you give a link or story on this?
I need it, a white man I know was complaining that the audience was "all Black people and women". of COURSE this is the kind of thing Fox would do.
