Did Obama blow his surprise?
IF the MSM is correct, and the top three were Biden, Bayh, and Kaine, we already know who the pick will be since it's been confirmed that Kaine and Bayh are out of it.

He should have announced before it was known the two were eliminated.

If it is Biden, it's already a little anticlimactic.

But it would be a beautiful site to behold if the MSM was wrong about the short list, and Obama gives us someone from out of left field!

Wonder what the chances of that are.

1. You should get a job at CNN.
You'd fit in perfectly!

19. Some folks just move from thread to thread to attack people for their opinion
It simply is disgusting. :puke:

I happen to agree with you by the way.

5. I thought you liked Biden?
It's still gonna be a surprise to lots of people including me 'cause I don't watch nooze and I'm not believing anything until I hear it from the campaign.

14. I do like Biden - a lot!
But I'm not really all that caught up in his being VP -- I'd rather see him as SOS (like it's up to me or something :eyes:)

But I was mostly commenting on the surprise element. Obama came THIS CLOSE to not giving anything away, it's too bad that the news about Kaine and Bayh may have spoiled that.

And I'm with you -- I'll believe it when I hear it from the campaign.

7. At this point...
I'd say the most surprising pick other than Hillary would be Jim Webb; recall Webb said he didn't want it and would rather stay in the Senate...if that turns out to've been a smokescreen then the whole thing will have been a brilliant bit of political theatre, and it's a choice that would catch pretty much everyone by surprise (moreso, probably, than HRC would).

17. Yes

Webb indeed would be the most surprising. The GOP would have completely dismissed him too.

Fuck, I am so excited by the thought of Biden being VP, however I'd be equally excited if it ends up being Webb (with Biden as SecState).

8. It won't be anticlimatic. The press will be thrilled that they figured it out.

9. This is exactly like last time. Process of elimination and then Edwards was the obvious choice.
That being said, I'm not quite convinced it's Biden.

13. Edwards was the obvious choice...
...because he came in second in the primaries.

16. I'm not convinced it's Biden, either.
Most of the "evidence" I've seen pointing to him is actually speculation and conjecture.

10. MSM said he was going to announce his Veep this week. Obama apparently NEVER said that.
So Obama did nothing.

Obama's campaign is better run than that.

20. This ain't a present under the Xmas tree
More like buying a car. You make a good, high quality purchase after a lot of research. Surprises may be fun, but I don't think he would win any additional votes in the GE as a result of a good surprise now. The press is going to cover it favorably enough from now until the convention, so what else is there to do?
