And I'm also gonna forget how many homes I own.

Nah, just kidding. I'm fine with whoever it is. Yes, even Bayh... if it must be him.

13. I've always believed in Lee Mercer.
He's brilliant, he's of the people, he's loaded with psychotropics, and he only has one house.

17. I'm blessed to have a ton of work tonight
but haven't been able to resist periodic dashes to DU just to watch the pot simmering. When it boils over, it's going to be something to see.

and hold on for dear life.

20. FEMA needs a cyber-squad.
On second thought, best to leave FEMA out of it, I guess.

21. LOL! it ran pretty good uner Democratic presidents.
Under Dubya, the wheels just came off.

If Obama goes on to win I hope he can restore FEMA and the ida along with it that WE are the government, and that folks in trouble deserve assistance.

22. Immediate top to bottom reform of FEMA in the first 60 days
of an Obama Administration would send a powerful message.

Then on to MSHA, the FDA, the SEC, the FCC, etc.

23. I like the way you think.
That's what's needed and I'm hoping the Obama win in November is by such a convincing margin that no one will stand in the way of the reform of those organizations.

I might even move the FCC into second place behind FEMA, or run the rehaul simultaneous to it.

JeffR, I'm homesick for some good government. I just know it's out there somewhere.

24. Maybe something sweeping like announcing reform of all
Federal agencies within the first X months of taking office. Obama understands that the grand gesture and pragmatic action aren't mutually exclusive. I think he's going to serve up both steak and sizzle.

18. Obama might simply feel Biden or someone else would
end the plague more effectively than Mercer.

I would disagree with that, of course. But Mercer never said he was running for anything but the top slot. He and his 18 million supporters just need time to heal. At least we'll be able to hear his name read into the record.
