Kaine on McCain's House Gaffe: "He Couldn't Count High Enough"

ABC News' Teddy Davis and Hope Ditto report: Obama V.P. prospect and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine mocked Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Thursday for not knowing exactly how many houses he owns.

"I understand that Sen. McCain was asked yesterday this question, 'how many houses do you own?,' and he couldn't answer that question. He couldn’t count high enough apparently to even know how many houses he owns,"said Kaine.

What if Cindy insisted on a prenuptial agreement. Community property? Maybe he doesn't know what's his and what's hers. When flying in her private jet is she the captain of the ship? Is he the co-pilot? Don't think she wants to crash though.

13. I believe in hitting McCain hard and frequetly--including about his

lies concerning his Vietnam service. But I don't think we win by throwing around schoolyard taunts of "You big dummy." That sort of insult is precisely the kind that they can trot out the sacrosanct POW mantle to deflect.

I think we can actually show him being stupid, ignorant, uninformed, and lacking in intellectually curiosity (like W), and thus let people see that he is stupid, ignorant, uninformed, and lacking in intellectually curiosity, but we shouldn't directly say that he is so dumb he can't count that high.

If the MSM and the RW outrage machine could slam Clark just for saying that being a POW doesn't make one qualified to be president, then this sort of comment can really provoke a backlash. Don't say he is dumb--let videotape and documents exposing his own words and actions show him being dumb.

The McCain camp fired back that it’s Obama who is “out of touch” with average Americans. “Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses?” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said. “Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ‘cling’ to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?”

16. Kaine - new guy, this is great stuff. This follows his Rove smack down.

On Meet the Press, the guy says, we have this from Karl Rove, and Kaine mockingly says, "Ohh, Karl Rove" then blasted him after the clip was shown.

This is what we need in a VP, a guy with enough confidence in himself to counter punch with great
effect.
