I like McCain's tale of the cross in the sand.
Particularly when the Hanoi Hilton had cement floors in the cells.

It was in a cell just like this that American Senator John McCain was held as a POW. I thought of him as we entered this dirty, dismal space.

American POWs would have exercised outside in this courtyard during the Vietnam War.

Here Nu and I are demonstrating the toilets used in the prison. The hole in the floor is barely visible just below us. This is actually a standard toileting set-up in Vietnam and wouldn't be considered unusual.

4. McCain doesn't mention the cross in the sand in his 1973 recounting of his captivity

6. Oh, I'm not refuting that... I think his story is total BS.
However, I do believe I heard him mention (on Saturday night) that he was led outside, and that's where the guy drew the cross.

3. Close up of floor in McCain's cell

These are the never-before-seen last-known photos of Sen. John McCain's Hoa Lo prison cell, images that prove that even after being cleaned up for an American historical filmmaker, the terror of the Hanoi Hilton is real. Debra Watkins, who took the pictures and video in 1993 and 1994 before this and other areas of the century-old prison were destroyed, provided them to Whispers as part of a story that appears in the Washington Whispers column. Watkins did volumes of research before traveling to Hanoi, sparked by reports the government planned to rip down most of the facility. She was able to find McCain's cell, which she says is pictured in the above photos. The first shows an official opening the cell. You can clearly see old locks used presumably to hold leg irons and other torture implements on the inside.

And McCain doesn't mention the cross in the sand in his 1973 recounting of his captivity:

7. There is no doubt in my mind he lied....
but "John McCain, the sacrosanct POW" is allowed to lie, cheat, steal with impunity it seems. Until the firewall his ghost writer/creater built is exposed, he will continue to use it as the foundation of his campaign.

9. McCain: A noun, a verb, and POW
Let's see those 800 pages of his military records he refuses to let the public read.

10. Yep, if there is nothing to hide, he can release them to the public...
although, it seems the McCain campaign is doing his POW image a great deal of damage themselves, they are throwing in the '.....but he was a POW....into everything that is coming up to the point of becoming glaringly ridiculous.

I suspect his continued, relentless references to having been a POW for purely politically expedient reasons has got to be angering the POWs out there, it is insulting to them, imo.

11. The Sacred Pow.
how can you not dig it tho, when half the budget goes toward the military rogue state of the U.S. of A.

to be a sacred pow is something to honor and hope to be one day. How else can you show your love for your violent country?
