I'm now advocating that Hillary Clinton be veep
If it is not Al Gore, Hillary Clinton would be our best shot of winning the national election.
If there is anyone else out there that can get the press and publicity needed to win, I don't know them.
My politics are grounded in the left. I support Nader and Dennis Kucinich. I didn't pick Hillary Clinton based on issues or politics. I based my support of her on the fact that she can help us win nationally. imho, of course.

Who else is backing Hillary Clinton for vice president?

Essentially, that is what your post boils down to.

Why not back up HONEST Democrats with vigor and might instead of giving in to the scenario corpmedia wants so they can help Republicans steal another election?

positive press that would pull the right-wing media from their touting of McCain, War Hero. I'm with you.........

But I will grow to love whomever it is that Obama picks as VP. Unless his pick is a repuke like Hagel.

23. say it isn't so, mdmc
not happening. just not happening.
look, these guys have worked their asses off to build brand obama. as david axelrod said- we have a tightly wrapped message. billary just will not, cannot, won't ever, fit into brand obama.
it is their most important decision. he isn't going to pick a best shot. he is going to nail down the brand. which, of course, is his best shot.

i am looking for someone completely out of the box, myself. if not al, rfk jr, or someone else from the environmental movement. billary will be offered a good job, but JUST CANNOT BE ON THE TICKET. it would be death to the brand. sudden death.

not any vagina, but most vaginas would do. certainly- all other things being roughly equal, vagina beats penis.
take all the umbrage you want at it, that is what my experience was. and believe me, as an early obama supporter, i heard all about it.

but, i'm done. i have kicked this thread more times than it deserves.

In this case, they're not.

Your friends have a lot in common with the college lads I have known, and a little in common with my crusty ole biker friend, who doesn't even slightly mind if the vagina in question belongs to a monstrously ugly individual.

25. Here in the tiny hole of the universe
that is DU, she has little support. But of course that's because we'd rather lose than support her.

In any other world, in any world where rational thought trumped gut hate and msm meme, Hillary would have been named weeks ago. If you look up the phrase "no-"brainer" in the dictionary there is a picture of Obama and Clinton at the inauguration. Out here in the world where we go from door to door registering voters and sit for hours folding flyers, we know it is going to be hard to beat the combination of America's short attention span and the gop lock on the media. My friends who campaigned for Obama in the primary but now actually work to get him elected don't claim the luxury that the keyboard warriors have, that of holding silly grudges to the point of losing the election.

Truly best scenario. Obama and Clinton announce that she was asked. She declines to become our most valuable asset in congress. They announce that together they sought the best person for the job and have prevailed upon Wes Clark to take the position. Cheers follow. Clark cleans the clock of any VP that nccain and name. Bill eats mccain for lunch every day and twice on Sunday. We get our country back.

Other scenarios are the product of fear and timidity, of cowardice and prejudice, of risking a loss for paltry reasons.

would be my neighbor who is a therapist. He is also a good Democrat. He is a veteran worker for Democrats for the last thirty years. He says he only drops in on DU for a sense of the surreal when the real world of getting people elected gets him down. His ratio is about 100 hours of work to 1 of play on the boards. I think he has it about right.

Advocate all you and the others want, it makes NO difference what you THINK should happen. It is already done and the odds are it ain't Hillery.

Do you really think posting an OP on DU has ANY effect on who becomes the VP, especially at the eleventh hour???? If you do, step away from the keyboard and re-acquaint yourself with the real world, it is the smart thing to do.
