McCain's Sex Life
Can anyone tell me whether McCain has publicly apologized to his family and the world for screwing around on his first wife? That seems to be the thing to do these days. Has anyone asked him to? And if not, why not?

1. He paid Carol off with healthcare. No wonder he doesn't want single payer...
then how would he control her?

3. Carol is staunch Reagan Republican
She's not the bitter ex-wife we want her to be. She'll do what's in her party's interest.

4. How do we know that? Seems to me she's been under "gag" orders forever.
McCain's Mom even sued her to get back earrings for goodness sakes.

7. She worked as a personal assistant to Nancy Reagan after the divorce
The McCains were close to the Reagans after John returned from Vietnam. Despite her own Cindy-like biography, Nancy clearly took the first Mrs McCain's side in the split. So Johnny's ex has been 'inside the tent' for at least 30 years now. I don't know about any gag orders, but this far down the track I imagine she's comfortable with her position and knows which side butters her bread.

She's been interviewed at least three times that I've seen in the past year. In each case she's been solidly in her ex's corner, even offering an "understandable" excuse for why McCain dumped her (he wanted to be 25 again).

8. If she were really 100% in McCain's corner she would have declined to be interviewed.

What she said, what little there was of it, was damning.

And in actuality, seeming to not be bitter gives what she says a whole lot more power.

The Mom McCain sue job confirmation was another jab.

Maybe she is just a really smart woman.

9. I don't know where you get that. A silent ex-wife is less useful than a supportive one.
What she said, what little there was of it, was damning.

Damning in your eyes. In the eyes of Republicans it closes the book on doubts about him and makes it all seem like just a personal matter, not a failure of character.

And in actuality, seeming to not be bitter gives what she says a whole lot more power.

Right. And she said she supports John McCain for president.

Maybe she is just a really smart woman.

That, my dear dkf, is exactly my point.

10. I don't know. Taking all that abuse and saying she still supports him

seems beyond human to me.

I don't buy it.

There was also a blurb that there was a bad rift with the kids after the divorce. But of course it got better after Cindy hired 'em and made em rich.

Also, and again, I think what she said was highly damaging. And when told what he said about the lawsuits, she laughs at him.
