Gunman wounds Arkansas Democratic party chairman
By ANDREW DeMILLO, Associated Press Writer
4 minutes ago
A gunman entered the Arkansas Democratic Party headquarters Wednesday and shot the party chairman, who was hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.

The gunman asked to speak to the party chairman, Bill Gwatney, and fired three shots.

"He came in and went into this office and started shooting," police Lt. Terry Hastings told reporters near the party headquarters.

Gwatney, a former legislator, was in critical condition, Hastings said.

The suspect was chased into Grant County, south of Little Rock, and apprehended after being shot, the police spokesman said. The suspect's condition was not known.

Sarah Lee, a sales clerk at a flower shop across street from the party headquarters, said that around noon Gwatney's secretary ran into the shop and asked someone to call 911. She said a man had come into the party and shot Gwatney multiple times.

2. That's what I'd like to know
I seriously want to understand why people do these terrible things. What is wrong with them? I want to know how to avoid people like that.

12. Hate
And it does not stop there. Shooters sometimes have family that will blame YOU if you stop
the shooter dead in his tracks before he kills you and your loved ones.

Hate is very bad news. The first step is to focus the blame on the hater for his hate.

That is the real world and some of us have lived through it.

8. These lunatics can't get to Obama, so they attack the party.
I think there is a direct correlation between recent violence and Obama being so competitive.

11. You have some facts this was politically motivated?
Please share. Could be a jealous/affair issue. Could it be the fact the victim endorsed
Hillary? I could go on but it would be ignorant to make shit up without facts.

Got any?

13. He asked for the chairman and then started shooting.
Why would he ask for the "chairman"? Also, if it was a love triangle thing, he'd probably know who he's going after.

14. A commentor on one of the local sites says the shooter
may have been a fired employee from one of Gwatney's car dealerships.

So, there's that.

How about we just put out good vibes for the man and wait to see what the truth is?

I heard the same thing before the blaming of everyone other than the shooter started here.

It's like preschool sometimes.

16. What else would it be?
It seems pretty clear from the article that there was some sort of political motivation.
