Fat-assed corrupt traitor Rove disses a VP choice OBAMA HASN'T EVEN MADE on "Face The Nation"
Rove: Obama Will Make Political Veep Pick
Suggests Choice Of Virginian Tim Kaine Would Be An "Intensely Political Choice" That Ignores Responsibilities Of Presidency

August 10, 2008

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/08/10/ftn/main4336134.shtml

(CBS) Republican strategist Karl Rove said on Face The Nation Sunday that he expects presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama to choose a running mate based on political calculations, not the person's readiness for the job.

"I think he's going to make an intensely political choice, not a governing choice," Rove said. "He's going to view this through the prism of a candidate, not through the prism of president; that is to say, he's going to pick somebody that he thinks will on the margin help him in a state like Indiana or Missouri or Virginia. He's not going to be thinking big and broad about the responsibilities of president."

Rove singled out Virginia governor Tim Kaine, also a Face The Nation guest, as an example of such a pick.

"With all due respect again to Governor Kaine, he's been a governor for three years, he's been able but undistinguished," Rove said. "I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th largest city in America."

Rove continued: "So if he were to pick Governor Kaine, it would be an intensely political choice where he said, `You know what? I'm really not, first and foremost, concerned with, is this person capable of being president of the United States? What I'm concerned about is, can he bring me the electoral votes of the state of Virginia, the 13 electoral votes in Virginia?'"

1. Karl Rove dissing him is the best endorsement Tim Kaine could get.
Obama/Kaine would make a strong ticket!!

5. Somebody should have said to Rove: "Name one GOOD thing W did as Governor"
Since he wants to pick on Kaine saying he hasn't done anything good yet as Governor.

28. He was the first outside of Chicago to Endorse Obama
That's good enough for me
and oh yeah I am a virginian!
Besides VA has a wonderful History of having the most Presidents come out of our fair state
why mess with history?

If you understand Rovian logic it means that if he's dissing someone that indicates he thinks that is the weakest choice Obama could make.

He badmouths someone he WANTS on the ticket.

6. Perfect example of them fearing Kaine as VP. They have no dirt on him
and I bet the Repukes internals are showing him pretty much putting VA in the Dem column.

29. Because he was a brainless idiot who wouldn't question the PNAC agenda.
Which was signed by pretty much everyone else in the original Chimpministration. And Jeb too.

8. I somewhat agree with Pigface--I see Kaine as a guy who may be impressive
in a few more years, but just isn't ready to be President should something happen to Obama. Just not enough seasoning there. He might share a lot of Obama's philosophies and political style, and they are similar resume-wise, but I think we can take VA without him--just not worth the risk of being called The Inexperience Ticket.

14. Repug Mike Murphy said he said he thought they "would pick Kaine unfortunately"
I saw Mike Murphy said he thought Obama would pick Kaine unfortunately for the repubs.

I don't know if they are truly scared of Kaine or if this is a "fake head pass".

17. I saw a repub strategist who used to work for McCain on Hardball a couple of months ago
(before we knew Kaine was on the short list), and he and the dem strategist were both asked which VP picks would be threatening choices for the other campaign, and the Repub said Tim Kaine as well. Damn it...wish I knew if it was just a head trip or a slip.

Say it isn't so! :eyes:

I think it's sad that Rove pretends to remain relevant in 2008. Poor guy.

That fat fucker belongs in jail.

There is a contempt charge hanging over his head yet the media swarms to him like flies on honey. If any of us had the criminal record he has the media would only want to see us jailed.

of being able to get their sargeant at arms to arrest people in contempt of their subpoenas and throwing them in their basement as an impromptu gaol (old school spelling in tribute to this kickass power-- this was definitely something the Founding Fathers had right. It was just too bad that this custom was discontinued because the previous Congresses didn't foresee the systemic corruption that an expansion of the Executive branch would cause).
