Aides try to cut down McCain's use of his gold cell phone
Edited on Sun Aug-10-08 10:34 AM by Ichingcarpenter
WASHINGTON — Senator John McCain is so quick to pick up his gold-colored cellphone to solicit advice — from senators, campaign consultants, even the stray former deputy press secretary — that aides, concerned about his tendency to adopt the last opinion he has heard, have tried to cut back on the time he has to make calls.

But unlike Mr. Bush or Mr. Clinton, Mr. McCain has displayed no particular interest in or knowledge of the minutiae of politics. He rarely gets involved with discussions about what states he should visit, other than to insist that he spend a day or two at home in Arizona most weekends.

1. I suspected the problem was a solid gold cell phone - wonder why I would get that idea about McCain?

5. His game boy is going to be next and he will be sent to bed early
If he doesn't watch it.

The article gives a good idea on the chaos in the campaign.

10. Its funny that the "gold cell phone" seems worse to some than the
mindlessness of this candidate.

11. hmmmmm a little tip on how McBush like to run things.....
like wars are so much more effective than diplomacy perhaps?

In an interview, Mr. McCain said he believed an organization consisting of sometimes colliding centers of power made sure that a candidate, or a president, reached fully informed decisions. “You’ve got to have competing opinions,” he said.

I just found that paragraph so interesting and a bit revealing as to how his lil war mongering mind works.

15. That is why it is scary when he surrounds himself with lobbyists.
Whoever told the NYT about McCain's gold phone problem sure did expose more than they probably wanted to.

16. Funny, it doesn't scare Republicans at all that McCorpse needs people
around him to control and monitor his behavior, like a toddler or an Alzheimer's unit resident. They don't mind an incompetent at the helm--he's just a figurehead. The real power comes from elsewhere.

18. don't get me started on that alzheimer’s reference...
I'll have ya reaching for a tinfoil hat on that one - heck, I found myself reaching for one not long ago.

I seriously think there's something more to Mcweird's memory lapses and confusion but since I'm not privy to hospital records, medication lists or any of that sort of thing, it must remain in the rumorsphere.

For now I feel comfortable saying that McBush is damaged goods.

It wouldn't be surprised if we all didn't hear alot more about it in the near future (sorta like we did w/Reagan).

19. I think he does have a clear decline in mental function--compared to
2000, certainly. He was much sharper then, and HE controlled his campaign for the most part. Now he's under his handlers' control, because he's simply no longer up to the task of thinking and speaking for himself.

Right there is 100% proof that he shouldn't be President. He shouldn't hold any public office.
