Is Obama too skinny to be president?
Edited on Sat Aug-02-08 01:32 PM by Tim4319
I could not believe my eyes and ears yesterday when I turned past CNN and this popped up. I thought there was a love affair with Barack and the media? With friends like this, who needs enemies!

Instead of, again, them focusing on issues, they did a study on whether or not Americans will vote for Barack Obama because he is too skinny. How crazy is this? Will CNN do a story on John McCain and him being too short? Doubt it!

http://www.ablogistan.com/archives/2008/08/is_obama_too_sk.html

"in a nation in which 66% of the voting-age population is overweight and 32% is obese," Obama's skinniness could be a liability.

Amy Chozick was actually paid to find quotes like, "I won't vote for any beanpole guy," which she pulled from a Yahoo politics message board. This is what passes for journalism today?

5. why focus on real issues when they can smear?

The Washington media is mostly about meta-analyzing things and gossip these days. Disgusting. They seem to be repeating the typical talking points instead of thinking for themselves.

8. Last bean-pole president I can think of was Lincoln
and we all remember what a complete boob he turned out to be..

We need fatties like Taft and Hoover. Now they were great leaders!

12. I know. I couldn't either. All everybody's been complaining about
for what seems like at least 2 years or more is that 85% of Americans are overweight, and something like 40% - 50% are obese. NOW they have a problem with Barack because he's NOT????

Damn! I've always been tall & thin, and I was called "skinney: when I was a teen. It really bothered me because all the new clithes I ever got had to have tucks in the waist or they'd fall off! Well, now I'm almost 65, and I still wear a size 8, and I laugh at the younger people who are always on some silly diet, constantly watching calories, or are just plain fat and don't seem to care!
