Dear MoveOn member,
John McCain is coming to the Columbus area next Wednesday, hoping to get lots of fluff coverage in the local media. Well, we're not going to let that happen.
On Tuesday, the day before McCain arrives, MoveOn members in your area will hold a media event at a local gas station. Together, we'll highlight McCain's ties to Big Oil. Voters want bold solutions to the energy crisis, but McCain is only proposing gimmicks like offshore drilling that help the oil industry. Barack Obama's proposing clean, alternative energy that will end our dependence on oil.
We'll invite the media and hold signs for bypassing cars to get our message out.
Can you help us push back against John McCain in Columbus this coming Tuesday, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.? It will be fun, and the more the merrier. Event details and RSVP link are here:

Local media will be invited and national media who fly around with McCain will receive photos and local news clips of the event to incorporate into their reporting.
Here are just a couple facts we will highlight:
* McCain has nearly 30 oil industry lobbyists running his campaign.
* McCain's taken over $1 million in donations from the oil industry.
* McCain proposes gimmicks like offshore drilling that do nothing in the short term and mostly enrich Big Oil in the long term, while Obama has bold proposals for clean, alternative energy.
We hope you can join us for this event. Thanks for all you do.
