I think he is a principled and intellectually honest man. I just disagree with him on a great many issues of substance! He would be a horrible choice for this ticket. Please, don't let that nightmare unfold!

You do not have to share my ethos or beliefs for me to recognize that your are true to your own.

Chuck is not evil. Not like Bush, Cheney, etc. But he stands on the wrong side of too many issues, in my view, to be considered for high level representation of our party ... like a VP slot.

I need not demonize him to feel that way about it. Chuck as VP? Good, lord. What would that say about our party and where it wants to go?

He would have had Joe Lieberman backing him up, and the party which has killed a million people in the past seven years would have been one heartbeat away from the job.

Hagel may help in a very small area but consider how we would feel with Lieberman on the McCain ticket. That's how Republican will feel about Hagel. We never expect to win their votes but they will be more motivated to work against a Obama / Hagel ticket.

They are both very polarizing figures. Hagel ..nope. Lieberman... double nope.
