"Well that should win the religous right over--his event was blessed by an Angel from above"
The Angel on Top represents Victoria, the roman godness of Victory or the (original) greek godness of Nike. On Top of the "Siegessäule", it represents 'Borussia', the latin word for Prussia and she is the female expression of Prussia. Some Footballclubs in Germany called themselfs Borussia, like Worldchampion in 1998, Borussia Dortmund. The historic backround is the Prussian win against Denmark in 1864, the golden cannons are danish. After that war, Schleswig-Holstein, became a prussian province. It also represents wins agains the House of Habsburg, today better known as Austria and the win over France in 1870, this win was the basic for founding that, what today is known as germany.

And yes, I'am from Berlin ;) and I'am proud that my hometown cheers Obama in that manner. Hope he will become the next president.
Greets and sorry for mistakes, my english is rusted.

3. I was afraid there would be at least one like that.
But if that's the worst it gets, that's not bad, really.

12. Nothing, to me...
I like it!

But what I was thinking about last night was that there would be some picture that even *slightly* resembled one of those "Hitler salutes" or whatever. Naturally, that would be the one that was selected, to make the rounds--if not in the corpmedia, then at least among the frothing 28-percenters. Silly gooses. :)

15. I thought Obama was being very careful to wave open-handed
Fingers spread apart, palm facing forward -- everything possible to differentiate from the stiff-armed, palm-down Nazi salute.

I think this is a man with an exquisite sense of his own body language and how to use it effectively.
