The Obama camp vs. the very powerful Clinton machine: Who won?

The Obama camp vs. a very inept McCain and staff: Who will win?

Pessimism and a 1/2 empty glass is boring. The power of positive thinking is more constructive.

Not suggesting a letdown, but for the sports-minded think killer instinct...strengthen the offense -- pour it on.

The result?

The Morphing of John McCain

1. Exactly. Don't get complacent, but be confident.
It's a marathon, not a sprint. But we have the legs and McCain doesn't.

2. Hillary would have been a very good President
just as her husband was.

But she wouldn't have changed the political landscape the way Obama hopes to do. Obama's goal is to make the same kind of change for the good that FDR did. FDR's vision lasted until Reagan came along. Bill Clinton was able to win the Presidency because of his personal appeal, and Bill did hold back the flood of Neocon nonsense the best he could, till Bush II got in. But now it's time for a new vision for the whole country.

3. However, the media (well, a majority of the media) was not on her side
Edited on Thu Jul-24-08 12:42 AM by anonymous171
They were just using her, near the end of the primaries, to soften up Obama for his run against McCain

4. The Obama Camp vs. the Mighty Slime Machine (MSM) and the Diebold Repiglickin' Electing Machinez
The MSM is preparing a major slime offensive. The recent rants about them being pro-Obama are the signal for them to shift the propaganda into high gear.

We should be a lot further ahead than the polls indicate, and we very likely are. But how do we keep them from stealing it again?

Blackwell is gone, but much of the dirty work was done at the county level, and those people are still there.

Paper ballots are nice, but rather useless if there is no way to force them to be hand-counted.
We need legislation to make it possible to get recounts, and not just when the results are extremely close. We need it NOW!

Obama (and our party generally) are also still extremely vulnerable to an "October Surprise" of the worst kind,
i.e. another Reichstag Fire (this one to be blamed on Iran, of course).
People seem to trust the old geezer more on national security,
even though crashing a fighter plane in a hostile country and being taken prisoner is the extent of his foreign affairs background.

Seems to me Obama has obtained more useful foreign policy experience in the past week than McLame has in 71 years!
We need to help people see that.
