Support for Obama crossing party lines - Mccain has PUMA and Obama has Republicans
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 09:59 PM by kevinmc
INDIANAPOLIS (WISHtv8) - A Republican political get together is planned for Thursday night in Hamilton County. GOP loyalists will work on a strategy to support their candidate for president.

But don't jump to conclusions. This group of Republicans, in one of the most Republican counties in the nation are working on behalf of a Democrat.

"I voted for Reagan and Bush and Bush, then Dole, then Bush and Bush," said Republican Chuck Lasker a GOP Obama supporter.

But this time, Lasker is voting for Barack Obama and he's trying to get other Hamilton County Republicans to do the same.

"There's a lot of disaffected Republicans out here. And so, just looking at the alternatives, I decided that Senator Obama better represents my views," said Lasker

6. Add to this that Ron Paul and other 3rd party candidates are
not even stealing just simply taking many of McCains supporters (if they were ever supporters) and holy shit.

7. YEs we can, Indiana is a VERY disgruntled state right now--look out!
I would not be surprised if Indiana turns blue this year! We are organizing and the enthusiasm is definitely felt even in my small rural area--even if there are many who do believe the "Obama is a muslim/anti-christ" emails....Today I feel a strong wave of change coming through my state! I like it.

9. I don't think it's fair to compare these ex (?) republicans to PUMAbots.
While I don't excuse their years of ignorance, the Republicans were deceived into voting against their own interests by a very effective propaganda machine which included the media and even, in some cases, their own churches.

The PUMAbots KNOW they are voting against their own interests, and are doing so out of spite, because a candidate lost a primary, which happens to all candidates except one, every 4 or 8 years. And even that candidate herself has gotten over the primary, yet they remain determined to destroy the country out of spite.

Not that I believe they have the numbers to do so. But they clearly believe their own lies.
