Dana Milbank is another one who I don't get with his "They're not letting McCain be McCain!'
So sick of this slogan! How did this become the universal meme? I swear, I constantly hear excuses from journalists about John McCain with "They just need to let McCain be McCain!" Sorry MSM, McCain IS McNasty, his old high school nick name. And Milkbank on KO completely dodged the question over whether McCain has any personal responsibility when it comes to things that his advisors and aides are throwing out, by saying that McCain does not "have an attack dog VP yet". Um, ok. So when he has a VP, it will still be acceptable for a campaign to criticize the guestbook entry at a holocaust museum? The "Let McCain be McCain" thing needs to die a painful death after this election, along with "under the bus" and "3 am phone call".

1. Thing is, neither they nor we ( possibly even McCain) knows
what McCain really is. He's taken every side of every possible issue out there. I hate the 'maverick' thing, too. He's no maverick. He's a flip flopper on a grand scale is all. And on top of that, he's stupid as shit.

2. Oh McCain is being McCain....and that is destroying his
campaign. What we have witnessed over the last couple of days is McCain not being able to gain any footing and he is starting to get pissed off.

5. Milbank was not a friend, nor fair, in 2004. Corporate, GOP sympathies...
Although his humor, banter comfortable for Keith. Media will not let the 2000 McCain out of their memories, as if he were competent then-but not.

10. Milbank must really miss the McCain of 1999 and early 2000, that same McCain
who is exactly the same as he is now. Dana Milbank, wrong about 2000 McCain and still wrong about the 2008 one.

11. Dana Milbank is a Media Heather.
Here's his take on Al Gore in 2000:

CNN's Reliable Sources August 10, 2002 was a genuine eye-opener. Guest Josh Marshall, webmaster of Talking Points, stated, "... I think deep down most reporters just have contempt for Al Gore. I don't even think it's dislike. It's more like disdain and contempt." None of the talking heads disagreed. Guest Dana Milbank, White House reporter for the Washington Post offered, "You know what it is? I think that Gore is sanctimonious and that's sort of the worst thing in the eyes of the press. And he has been disliked all along and it was because he gives a sense that he is better than us ... as reporters."

14. yup. I remember Milbank as the Total Media Whore.
It's just, you would think these media whores could vary their meme a little rather than sticking with the same "Let McCain be McCain" slogan. I'm never really happy to see him on KO.

15. Its just Milbank being Milbank. If it weren't for Jim Warren, Dana
would be the most supercilious, non informative reporter on the national political beat. Who hires these idiots?
