Question about Chuck Hagel (Please help me on this):
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 05:36 PM by mod mom
I did a little research on E-Voting Corporations to post on a bi-partisan blog. As many here have read, Chuck Hagel had ties to ES & S. I attempted to find newer material to post rather than the material from pre-2004 and found this:

Election Systems & Software, Inc. (ES&S) Growth Capital, 1987
Omaha, NE
ES&S is the world's largest and most experienced provider of total election management solutions with more than 170,000 systems installed worldwide. Over the past decade, ES&S has handled more than 30,000 of the world's most important events elections. In the U.S. 2000 General Election, ES&S systems counted over 100 million ballots.

Fundrace shows Michael R. McCarthy of the McCarthy Group donating $5,000 to :

the Sand Hills Pac-CHUCK HAGEL'S PAC (and here is how Sand Hills Pac money is allocated it's funds:

SO HERE I FIND THAT CHUCK HAGEL'S PAC IS DONATING ALL OF HIS PAC'S FUNDS IN TO GOP ORGANIZATIONS/CANDIDATES, SO WHY ARE THERE FOLKS HERE SUGGESTING HE WOULD BE A GOOD RUNNING MATE FOR SEN OBAMA?

*NOTE: INCLUDING $5,000 TO THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO (why Ohio?) REPUBLICAN PARTY WHO HAS BEEN EMBROILED IN A BATTLE OVER WHICH MACHINES TO USE.

1. To be fair, incumbent candidate PACs hardly ever contribute to opposite party groups....

But I don't think Hagel is a serious VP choice, it's just Net Chatter. With the two party system it's nearly impossible to nominate cross party. I see Hagel as a cabinet member, maybe Secretary of Defense or a high level cabinet position, but nothing beyond that.

EDIT: Obama has proven himself to be the opposite of Bush in so many ways. While Bush surrounded himself with a small circle of ass kissers and yes men, Obama prefers a huge group to promote open dialogue and real solutions.
