"Kerry should talk about his 20 years in the Senate" BRING IT ON
One of the latest tactics of the Republicans and their enablers in the "journalistic" community is to suggest that it is the Kerry campaign that is focusing on Vietnam, when they just really want to talk about the issues. Over and over I hear them say "Why doesn't Kerry want to talk about his record in the Senate?"

Well, be careful what you ask for:

Kerry turned down a more prestigious appointment on the Senate Appropriations Committee to take a seat on the Foreign Relations Committee. He developed a reputation for his investigation/oversight activities.

His investigation in the illegal aid to the Nicaraguan contras by the Reagan Administration set the stage for the Iran-Contra Investigation.

Kerry led the investigation into the $20 Billion fraud/money-laundering BCCI scandal and Noriega's drug-trafficking.

Kerry chaired the Senate Select Committee on Vietnam MIA/POWs, which led to normalization of relations with Vietnam.

Kerry worked on the Clean Air Act with Senator John Heinz just before Heinz was killed.

Kerry backed deficit-reduction plans and was active on anti-drug issues (no wonder * hates him).

These are some of the issues in Kerry-sponsored bills in the 108th Congress:

HIV/AIDS
Small businesses
veterans benefits
taxes & tax credits
creating the National Housing Trust Fund
equipping reservists called to active duty
increase availability of discount prescription drugs
