McCain Has More Than $1 Million in Credit Card Debt
@ 12:37 pm by Andy Barr

The John McCain campaign owes American Express $1.37 million in credit card debt and fees, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

A memo from the Democratic National Committee mocked the number, claiming "the campaign is taking its cues from the McCain's personal finances."

In June the McCain's reported more than $100,000 in personal credit card debt. Reports on Cindy McCain's personal finances have shown the beer heiress has charged as much as $500,000 in one month on an American Express card.

I especially love the DNC's comment.

On a sidenote, I'll assume this is not particularly unusual, or is it?

2. How the hell is AMEX letting him get away with that?
That's some seriously BIG bills, and they're just letting him continue to spend? When did AMEX start allowing people to do that?

Oh, wait, I forgot--he's probably got a black AMEX, and I'm sure that would allow him to buy a small country if he wanted to. :sarcasm:
