Is it true that Kerry is losing in Massachusetts?
It is my profound belief that if you lose your home state, it is very hard to look strong in other states.

I'm fairly sure somebody is going to invoke Al Gore winning the popular vote while losing tennessee to counter that. Whadeva.

In anycase a Bostoner (me) would be very grateful for some #s/predictions. Eager to see your input. Thanks.

3. Last poll I can find is 11/24
One poll said Dean was ahead and another said it was a dead heat:

4. I think Kerry would pull through
barely. Dean has alot of support in Massachusetts (and is even running better vs. Bush than Kerry according to one poll in November beating Bush by 24-points compared to Kerry's 18-points.)but I think home pride would carry Kerry to a narrow victory. However, I think by the time Massachusetts votes that Kerry will be out of it--and the state will be solid for Dean.

5. Yes - and if Clark beats him in New Hamp it will also mean trouble
Clark is now only one point behind him in New Hampshire.

The positives for Kerry are that he is doing better than expected in Iowa and he's moved up a few points in the national polls.

Then, again, he will do badly on Feb. 3.....

Running 8th in S. Carolina
Running 5th in Arizona
Running 5th in Delaware (east coast - not good)
Running 3rd in Missouri
Running 6th in Oklahoma

I like Kerry and hate to see him perhaps ruin his political career by chasing something that could be a "pipe dream." But then again, I could be wrong and maybe he'll come in a strong second in Iowa, make a big splash and it will help him in the other states.
Sometimes you just don't know...
