Blacks and Whites for Obama and McCain
A total breakdown in the the approval of whites and blacks approval of both candidates. Apparently, among whites who were fans of the tv show "Martin", Obama has 41% approval ratings. Awesome stuff. Here's the full poll:

1. I know this is mostly satire, but something confuses me.

Since some of these results look real based on the New York Times poll.

How can Obama have a 45% approval rating among WHITE REPUBLICANS, 75% among WHITE DEMOCRATS, yet only 33% of all WHITES?

group. If you have a small cake 75% amounts to only part of the 33 percent. The quarter of white Democrats not for Obama are the former Hillary supporters. Republicans have had the white vote for many years(not to say we don't have whites, just fewer) . Obama has brought out african americans in full support though. McCain is held back by the bob barr vote though and he Republican detractors. I don't feel the lack of enthusiasm for McCain will get him over the finish line. Seems that the FEW Hillary supporters are staying home than voting at this point.

4. It still doesn't add up for me, though.
If Republicans have a majority of the white vote and 45% of them approve of Obama, then you add in the smaller number of white Democrats who approve of Obama (a high number at 75%), how does it drop when a smaller number of non-Democratic/Republican white men don't approve of him. It doesn't make sense, unless the rest of non-major party whites approve of Obama by like 10-20% and that seems even less likely since Obama is running almost even among indies.

To me to be blunt it makes African Americans the smartest people in America they have always stuck with Democrats for many years. And in fairness also the white folk who do see the light.
